Consulting Firms in the Land of Opportunity

Are you applying to consulting jobs in the good ol’ U.S. of A?

Wanting to pursue prosperity, success and a better life?

Do you believe in truth, justice and the American way?

Are you faster than a speeding bullet?

But seriously, all jokes aside, we’re not entirely sure whether anyone who reads this blog has an interest in the American market.

If you do, or know someone who does, then you’re in luck.

We have prepared a guidebook that profiles the most prominent consulting firms in America.

And, despite the lame and cheesy nature of this blog post, there is no catch.  You can download the guidebook here for free, no member sign-up required.

We are distributing the guidebook under a creative commons license, which means that you are free to edit, share, publish, republish, or do pretty much what ever you like with this guidebook.

If you have any suggested edits, deletions or amendments, then please feel free to let us know and we will work with you to iterate and improve the guidebook for the benefit of everyone.

Hard economic times

When the economy slows, you’re likely to get RAPED, SHAFTED or SCREWED

Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown in the US economy, Congress has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early, mandatory retirement, thus creating jobs and reducing unemployment. This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).

Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to Congress to be considered for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination).
Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers).

A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as Congress deems appropriate.

Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependants & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).

Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by Congress.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Congress has always prided themselves on the amount of SHIT they give their citizens. Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your Congressman, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.

Sincerely,

The Committee for Economic Value of Individual Lives (EVIL)

PS – Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

List of consulting firms in America

PREVIOUSLY I created a list of certain consulting firms in Australia. I have decided to do the same thing for the United States. This list provides quick access to a list of the top consulting firms in America and provides a short description of each. I hope you find it useful.

The list of consulting firms is long, so I divided the firms into 5 categories. I have only listed each firm once, but some firms could easily have been placed under more than one heading. The breakdown is a pretty ad hoc, but hopefully it makes the list a little easier to digest. Within each category, the firms are ordered as they appear in the Vault Guide to the Top 50 Management and Strategy Consulting Firms (2008 edition). Let me know if you find this list helpful.

Without further ado, the 5 categories of consulting firms are as follows:

  1. General business and strategy consulting
  2. IT consulting
  3. HR consulting
  4. Economic advisory and executive education
  5. Litigation support services
